Course Requirements : Take the provided pretest, read the book “Chasing Dragonfiles : Life and Care in Aging” by Lauren Smerglia Seifert, and take the provided post test.. You may mail or fax your materials to DH Special Services. Once the materials are received and a passing grade is determined, a scanned copy of your certificate will be e-mailed to you, with a hard copy mailed. .
Course Content: The reading of the text “Chasing Dragonflies: Life and Care in Aging” will introduce the participant to specific theories about aging in a very practical way. Sensory changes, cognition, emotion, spirituality and creativity will be explored through research and specific examples in practice. The participant will gain an understanding of proven theory which supports daily approaches and techniques.
