Course Requirements : Take the provided pretest, read the book “Beyond Baskets and Beads : Activities for Older Adults with Functional Impairments” by Hart, Primm & Cranisky, and take the provided post test . You may e-mail, mail or fax your materials to DH Special Services. Once the materials are received and a passing grade is determined, a scanned copy of your certificate will be e-mailed to you with a hard copy mailed.
Course Content: The reading will provide the participant with an introduction to the theoretical or philosophical basis for therapeutic programming for older adults. The participant centered approach will be stressed and illustrated through various individual and group programs that are effective in meeting the quality of life needs of elderly participants.
