Course Requirements : Take the provided pretest, read the book “Caring for People with Challenging Behaviors” by Stephen Weber Long, and take the provided post test. You may mail or fax your materials to DH Special Services. Once the materials are received and a passing grade is determined, your certificate will be mailed to you. If you are in need of the certificate sooner, a copy can be faxed to you and the original mailed.

Course Content: The reading will provide the participant with an understanding of what motivates and triggers behaviors, improving behavior through the “ABC’s of Behavior”, and using practical communication and psycho-social based approaches to encourage more positive behaviors.
